Ronald Danner Selected for Senior Scientist Mentor Program

Ronald P. Danner, Professor Emeritus of Chemical Engineering, has been selected as a 2014 Senior Scientist Mentor by the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation.

He was one of only 10 emeritus professors nationwide chosen for the program. Established in 1946, the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation is a non-profit organization devoted to the advancement of the chemical sciences.

Danner will receive a $20,000 grant to support an undergraduate research project titled "Solubility and Diffusivity of Solvents in Polymers at High Pressure." The primary aim of the research is to aid in the reduction of organic contaminates that remain in the plastics that we use every day.

Dreyfus Foundation names
Dr. Ronald Danner a 2010 Senior Scientist Mentor

The Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation has recently informed Dr. Ronald Danner, an emeritus professor in the Penn State Department of Chemical Engineering, that he has been selected as a 2010 Senior Scientist Mentor.

The award will support Dr. Danner's research with undergraduates, entitled Study of the Removal of Hazardous Compounds from Poly(vinyl chloride).
