Department of Chemical Engineering |
The Department of Chemical Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University has a proud tradition of scholarship and teaching that began with Professor Merrell Fenske, the first Head of our Department and a pioneer in the technology of distillation. Under the guidance of succeeding department heads, we continue to remain highly diversified in each of the major sub-disciplines of chemical engineering. Our current strengths are in biomolecular, computational and nanoscale engineering. He was formally introduced at the International Congress on Membranes and Membrane Processes. George Khoury was named one of the winners of this year's Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship. Khoury is one of only four Penn State students selected for the award. The other students are all from the Eberly College of Science.
This is actually the first year of a 10-year pledge, so the total value of this gift will be more than $1,000,000. |
