Costas Maranas coauthors book that explores optimization concepts in metabolic networks
2/17/2016
Costas Maranas, Donald B. Broughton Professor of Chemical Engineering at Penn State, and Ali R. Zomorrodi, postdoctoral research associate at Boston University, have recently published the book, “Optimization Methods in Metabolic Networks.”
The work provides a tutorial on the computational tools used in optimization concepts for the curation, analysis and redesign of metabolic networks.
The publication is designed as a textbook to support coursework in metabolic networks.
Maranas, who joined the department in 1995, and Zomorrodi, a former PhD student and postdoctoral researcher in the Maranas’ lab, began work on the book approximately two years ago.
The text is available in hardcover and E-book formats at wiley.com.
