Janna Maranas Soft Matter and Neutron Scattering Research Lab

The Janna Maranas Soft Matter and Neutron Scattering Research Lab is comprised of graduate students, postdocs, and undergraduate researchers investigating molecular structure and mobility in soft materials. Lab work is equally divided between computation and experimental approaches. Current projects address polymer electrolyte for battery application, plant cell walls, biomimetic membranes, and cosmetic formulation.

Current research focuses in the lab include:

  • Solid polymer electrolytes
  • Plant cell wall
  • Biomimetic desalination membranes
  • Computational modeling of electrochemical interfaces
  • Cosmetic formula research
