Velegol Lab

The Velegol Lab combines experiments, numerics, and theory to reveal how bulk behavior can be controlled using molecular techniques. The laboratory focuses on colloidal devices and their possibilities in drug delivery, energy collection, micro-robotics, and environmental remediation. They work to fabricate devices for these applications from the “bottom up.” In addition to the engineering applications, they also study colloidal forces at a fundamental level.

Current research focuses in the lab include:

  • Colloidal fabrication
  • Nanoscale charge nonuniformity on individual particles
  • Colloidal and nanocolloidal forces and dispersion
