Graduate student Maria Sanchez Faran receives the
College of Engineering Distinguished Teaching Fellowship

Graduate student Maria Sanchez Faran of the Borhan Research Group receives a College of Engineering Distinguished Teaching Fellowship.

Maria is only one of seven doctoral students throughout the College of Engineering to earn this prestigious honor.

The fellowship program was established to provide experiences that will enhance the career success of the fellows, especially those who choose to pursue faculty positions.

As a participant of the program, Maria will receive exclusive professional development opportunities, including attending the College of Engineering's new faculty workshop, participating in monthly roundtables with peer teaching fellows and faculty known for excellence in their teaching and attending special workshops sponsored by the Leonhard Center.

Penn State Engineering Alumni Society (PSEAS) chemical engineering recipient photos

Congratulations to the faculty members and the chemical engineering alumnus who have received awards from the Penn State Engineering Alumni Society (PSEAS).

Professor Ali Borhan wins the Lawrence J. Perez Memorial Student Advocate Award. Professor Seong Kim receives the Outstanding Research Award, and alumnus Ken Graziani wins the Distinguished Service Award for his continuing work for the department of chemical engineering and Penn State.

The recipients formally received their awards at the Penn State Engineering Alumni Society Awards Ceremony held on April 1, 2014.

On April 19th faculty member Ali Borhan was formally awarded the Graduate Faculty Teaching Award by Penn State President Rodney A. Erickson.

Dr. Borhan and other recipients were honored at an awards ceremony held at the Nittany Lion Inn on the University Park Campus.

The Graduate Faculty Teaching Award was established in 1992 by The Graduate School, is presented to faculty members in recognition of outstanding teaching performance and advising of graduate students.

Faculty member Dr. Ali Borhan
named recipient of Graduate Faculty Teaching Award

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Ali Borhan, Professor of Chemical Engineering, has received the 2012 Graduate Faculty Teaching Award.

The award, established in 1992 by The Graduate School, is presented to faculty members in recognition of outstanding teaching performance and advising of graduate students.

Borhan, a member of the Chemical Engineering faculty for 23 years, is honored for his teaching of graduate level courses.
